We
were wondering why the pub, The County Court, Quarry Street, was so named?

George:
Can't say for certain but I would guess that The County Court is
named after the former Court House building nearby.
I believe that the Cobden pub may, at some time in the past,
have been known as the Sessions House because it too was near the Court
House. Why it was renamed the Cobden is anybody's guess!
